Last summer we had the absolute pleasure of being visited by the BBC 'Escape to the Country' TV crew to film an episode for series 25 (episode 55) of the popular programme!
The programme aired on the 3rd June 2025 and can be viewed here.
We had so much fun showing host Briony May Williams (of Bake Off fame!) around our no dig permaculture garden and museum orchard that we almost forgot that the cameras were there!

As seen on the show, as well as grafting and planting rare varieites of apples into our museum orchard, Tom and I also organically grow all of the vegetables that we consume.

We truly believe that the fate of the planet is tied to the complete overhaul of our food system. Organic food needs to become the norm and easily accessible for all. Housing needs to become a lot cheaper and food more expensive; we have lived with artificially cheap food since the so called ‘green revolution’ and the escalation of chemical farming after the Second world war, all to the detriment of the land, the critters living on it, the folks farming it and ultimately the people eating from it. We believe one of the most effective ways of creating change is if we all begin to build a connection to where our food comes from again. This means shopping locally and seasonally. Shockingly we currently throw away a third of all the food we buy and we're sure that this would change if we had a deeper connection, understanding and respect of where and how it came to be. Happily, this is a revolution which can end only in a delicious, healthy and beautiful meal, so if you’re like us and think mostly with your stomach it’s an essential and rewarding one to get behind!
