Tasting notes

A perfect bottle for food pairing, this is perry as we like it best- off dry and with a hint of fizz. It's our alternative to a fine white wine.

Food pairing suggestions

Light and fruity with very gentle acidity, this pairs beautifully with another local delicacy, the creamy unpasteurised goat’s cheese made by market gardeners 100% Hay. At best now to 2030.

The story behind the cider

Named after one of our favourite artists and in celebration of the beautiful borderlands surrounding the local, wonderful, and gregarious town of Hay-on-Wye this perry is made from an unidentified variety harvested from a little orchard, not far away on the other side of the valley.

Community spirit is strong in these hills which are replete with dreamers and awash with change makers. In spite of the woes of the world, this is a place that inspires belief that anything is possible. We reckon Grayson would be right at home here.

The CO2 emissons for 1x bottle of Grayson measures 1.001kg.

We are hugely proud to be the first UK cidery to publish our carbon foot printing data. Since 2021 each bottle produced has contained this information on the label and we are pleased to say that the carbon associated with each bottle is decreasing with each vintage as we continue to make changes in the cidery. We believe that sharing this data is essential for us all to start being able to make conscious and informed choices about what we consume and the effect those decisions will have on our planet.

FAQs

How quickly will I recieve my order?

Everything is packed and shipped by us (Tom and Lydia) at the cidery and we aim to get all orders out within two days of purchase. If you need your cider more quickly, get in touch and we'll do our best to help!

Orders are shipped via Parcel Force on a next day delivery service.

Does the perry have a use by date?

Unopened and stored in a cool, dry place our perry will be good to drink for around three years  As a general rule, like wine, cider has excellent capacity for ageing.

If the perry has been opened we recommend sealing with a champagne stopper and storing in the fridge for no more than 24 hours.

Is the perry vegan friendly?

Yes, our only ingredient is perry pears!

Is the perry organic?

We only use organically grown, unsprayed pears in our perry. Due to the number of orchards we care for belonging to other people we are not able to offically certify ourselves organic at this point in time.

Does the perry contain sulphites?

This perry contains no sulphites.

Who designs your labels?

All of the label artwork and graphic design is done in house by Lydia using traditional materials. The labels are printed onto recycled paper by a wonderful, local family run printing company and then stuck to the bottles by us using an up-cycled, and crucially, plastic free glue invented by Tom.

Check out our range of postcard art prints featuring Lydia's label art from past vintages!

Can I come and collect my order from the cidery?
